The piano was fascinating to her what it could do. The parents of her May-Britt family as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but to grow. She started writing her own songs. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork for being among her inspirations. The singer decided to perform her songs publicly when her mother said they could help people not gain acclaim for her music, but rather to help the people around them understand their importance and the ways they can affect the world. At age 6 She began playing the piano, and when she was nine, started writing songs. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was fourteen. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. Aurora says she loves writing songs. She claims that music is her preferred method to feel anything.
